Description
Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
Tylosin (as Tartrate) : 200 mg
Properties:
– Tylosin has an antibacterial spectrum essentially the gram positive, but also is active against spirochetes, large viruses and certain gram negative micro-organisms and against certain mycoplasma species.
– Tylosin is relatively non-toxic, oral LD50 in mice greater than 5000 mg/kg.
Indications:
Indicated for the treatment of respiratory and genitourinary tract infections, otitis, cellulitis and secondary bacterial infections associated with viral diseases or post-operative infections and for the treatment of Foul in the foot, mastitis and calf pneumonia in Cattle, Sheep and Goats.
Dosage and administration:
Administered by intramuscular injection.
Cattle:
2.5 – 5 ml / 100 kg bodyweight / day, for 5 days
(5-10 mg active ingredient / kg bodyweight / day, for 5 days).
Sheep and Goats:
2.5 ml / 50 kg body weight / day, for 5 days
(10 mg active ingredient / kg bodyweight / day, for 5 days).
Contraindications:
Not to be given to Chicken and Turkeys.
Withdrawal Period:
– Meat from treated animals shouldn’t be used during treatment and within 7 days from the last treatment.
– Milk from treated Cattle shouldn’t be used during treatment and within 72 hours from the last treatment.
– Milk from treated Sheep and Goats shouldn’t be used within 48 hours from the last treatment
Storage:
store in a dark and dry place at a temperature below 250C
