Description

Composition:

Each 1 ml contains:

Amoxicillin (as Trihydrate) : 150 mg

Gentamicin (as  Sulphate ) : 40 mg

 Properties:

  • The combination of amoxicillin and gentamicin acts synergistically against a wide range of infections caused by both Gram-positive (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Corynebacterium spp.) and Gram-negative (E. coli, Pasteurella, Salmonella and Pseudomonas spp.) bacteria in cattle, horses, sheep and goats.
  • Amoxicillin inhibits mainly in Gram-positive bacteria the cross-linkage between the linear peptidoglycan polymer chains that make up a major component of the cell wall.
  • Gentamicin binds to the 30S subunit of the ribosome of mainly Gram-negative bacteria, thereby interrupting protein synthesis.
  • The combination has less resistance and larger antimicrobial spectrum compared to the two antibiotics separately.

 Indications:

It is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal, respiratory and intra-mammary infections caused by bacteria sensitive to the combination

  • Cattle: Pneumonia, Diarrhea, Bacterial enteritis, Mastitis, Metritis and Cutaneous abscesses.
