Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
Dipyrone: 500 mg
Properties:
- Dipymaj is an antipyretic from the antipyrone (pyrazolone) group. It possesses pronounced analgesic, antifebrile, anti-inflammatory, antineuralgic, antirheumatic, spasmolytic and sedative properties.
- The spasmolytic effect of Dipyrone on smooth muscles is accompanied by peripheral vasodilation, thus increasing blood supply to striped muscle; it eliminates the spasms of the forestomach and regulates their motor function. It does not suppress the intestinal peristalsis.
- It restricts the inflammatory edema.
- It is extremely safe and non-toxic with no side effects on circulatory systems, kidney or other organs.
Indications:
Dipymaj is a potent central analgesic, antipyretic and antirheumatic agent with marked sedative and spasmolytic properties on animals.
It is indicated in the following cases:
- Catarrhal-spasmatic colic, meteorism and intestinal constipation in horses.
- Spasms of the uterine cervix during birth.
- Pains of urinary and biliary origin.
- Neuralgia and neuritis.
- Acute gastric dilation, accompanied by severe colic attacks.
- For allaying the irritability of the animals and preparing them for stomach lavage in horses.
- Esophageal obstruction, joint and muscular rheumatism.
- For preparation of surgical and obstetrical interventions.
Dosage and Administration:
Administered by Intramuscular or Intravenous injection.
- Horses: 20 – 50 mg/ Kg bodyweight (2 – 4.5 ml / 45 Kg bodyweight).
- Cattle: 20 – 40 mg / Kg bodyweight (2 – 3.5 ml / 45 Kg bodyweight).
- Dogs: 1 ml / 10 Kg bodyweight.
- Administration: 2 – 3 times daily for a maximum of 2 days.
Contraindications:
- Concurrent administration of Barbiturate, Chlorpromazine or Phyneylbutazone.
- Contraindicated to be given to racing animals within 5 days before a race.
- Dipyrone and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories such as aspirin and flunixin meglumine are contraindicated in cats for treatment of heat stroke. Use of dipyrone is discouraged because dosages for cats are not well established, and the side effects include bone marrow suppression and clotting abnormalities, especially with long-term use.
Side Effects:
The continuous administration of high doses may cause leukopenia, agranulocytosis. Irritation may possibly occur after subcutaneous application.
Withdrawal Period:
- Animal’s meat should not be used during treatment and within 12 days from the last treatment.
- Milk should not be used during treatment and within 4 days from the last treatment.
- In race-horses a withholding period of 5 days is recommended before the race.
Storage:
Store at temperature below 30oC.
